Photography should be at the center of every social network, and Google Plus does exactly that. By offering an awesome platform for people to share and upload their photos, and making it so simple and intuitive to interact with the photos, Google targets a group that is usually ignored by most social networks.
And now, Google is offering an extra incentive for all those photographers and photography networks to use Google Plus. Meet the Google Photography Prize.

Google teamed up with Saatchi Gallery, London to offer students in higher education around the globe a chance to showcase their work on the worldwide stage. They "challenge you to come up with photographs that will make us laugh, cry, listen, hop on a plane, start a conversation, or start a revolution". The competition is open to all students in higher education who are over 18, anywhere in the world. You just have to choose one category, and share up to eight of your photos. The deadline is on January 31, 2012 so grab your camera and start shooting!
As with any competition, it isn't complete without some prizes, and Google offers some prizes to drool over. You ready? Here we go.
