Global Android Dev Camp

[Cross-posted from my personal blog]

As you may know, this weekend, there will be a Global Android Dev Camp from 17th to the 19th of February 2012.

The Global Android Dev Camp will be a 48h coding hackathon, that will not only grant you an opportunity at awesome prizes, but also bring the (local and Global) Android community closer together. It will grant you the opportunity to collaborate and share your knowledge with other enthusiasts around the world.

Unfortunately, I will be indisposed this weekend at another camp I am attending (and where I was strictly told that no laptops or tablets are allowed), so unfortunately, I will not be able to participate in this awesome event. However, I will be donating my Android phone (Nexus One), and my Logitec Reveu Google TV box for testing. So if you (whether by yourself or along with a team) would like to participate in this event, please let me know, and I will give you my phone, and TV box for testing along with wireless internet access till the end of this event.

You can follow the event on Google+ here.

Also if you need help setting up the environment, want the SDK kit, or help with any issues that arise, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Google Online Marketing Challenge!

Real moneyreal resultsreal experience!

Dear AUB students,

The Google Online Marketing Challenge (GOMC) is an exciting opportunity for you to experience online marketing and creating online marketing campaigns using Google AdWords. As well, you and your professors can win great prizes. Over 50,000 students from almost 100 countries have participated in past Challenges.

The global winners and their professor receive a trip to the Google Headquarters in Mountain View, California to meet with the AdWords team. Regional winners and their professor receive a trip to a regional Google office.

The competition is open to enrolled undergraduate or graduate students, regardless of major, with teams ranging in size from three to six. All students must register under a verified professor/instructor at a higher education institution. More about the challenge.

Also, for AUB students who are interested, Dr. Antoine Feghali will be giving INFO 250A / MKTG 250BManagement of Search Marketing Technologies in the Spring semester.

This course typically starts with an already designed e-marketing plan that students will have to evaluate, revise, and implement. Typical implementation focuses on managing search marketing technologies to sell a product or service online. More specifically, students engage in a practical online campaign using Google techniques and tools. All students taking this course engage in the Google Online Challenge (worldwide).

[Not an AUB student? Send us your professor's contact details and we'll discuss it with them!]

Please fill out this form if you are interested.
